New Poland Study Visa Requirements for Indian Students: Application Process and Regulations

As of July 2, Indian students heading to Poland must now register their study visa applications through the e-consult system.
The embassy has also stated that interview appointment dates will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis for those registering through the Polish Embassy in New Delhi.
These new regulations apply to Indian students under the jurisdiction of both the Polish Embassy and the Polish Consulate in Mumbai.
The Polish Embassy in New Delhi will conduct interviews for students from Indian states including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi (NCR), Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh.
Other states include Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, as well as South Asian countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
The Polish Consulate in Mumbai will handle interviews for students from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, and Goa.
Applicants from Union Territories including Puducherry, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands also fall under its jurisdiction.
According to data from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, over 5,000 Indian students studied in Poland in 2022.
Following the Ukraine war, many Indian students who were studying medicine in Ukraine have opted to continue their education in neighboring Poland.
Despite Poland’s growing appeal among international students, the country appears to be implementing significant changes to its study and work visa processes.
In May 2024, the Polish government announced its plans to address irregularities in the visa issuance process.
Reports suggest that Poland will introduce a mandatory pre-selection requirement for visa applicants, which universities will also need to adhere to.
Additionally, Poland is considering restricting international students’ access to the labor market and may increase the minimum funds requirement for those applying for a visa or residence permit, as reported by Schengen News.
